*"Mirage" is a work in progress for HUB New Music, an ensemble based in Detroit. When HUB and I first started talking about creating a new piece, we discovered a mutual fascination with UFOs—mixing real curiosity with a bit of sci-fi fun. Are UFOs just products of our imagination, projections of our hopes, or something truly alien? "Mirage" explores these questions through sound, blending electronics, radio signals, white noise, and processed acoustic instruments.
